About a year ago I reviewed Kith Cafe at Rodyk Street and since then, I have been going back to the cafe every once in a while. There is no doubt that Kith Cafe is one of the popular cafes in town which serves decent coffee and brunch but accessibility to the cafe has always been an issue. Well, not anymore.
Fellow foodies can now visit their second branch located at Park Mall Shopping Center, located right opposite Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station. Convenient? Sure is!
Kith Cafe is not new in the Singapore food scene since they first started out more than a year back in Rodyk Street. Kith Cafe at Park Mall, since opening its doors barely 2 months ago, has already gained tremendous popularity among brunch-goers and coffee lovers. I popped by the place on a Sunday afternoon and noted a never-ending stream of customers to the cafe throughout my lunch there.
Similar to the one at Rodyk Street, there are both indoor and outdoor seatings at this new branch.
Take note that this is your regular walk-in cafe so it’s on a first-come-first-serve basis. Unlike most other eating outlets, you need not wait by the entrance to get a table during peak hours. In fact, all you have to do is to pen down your name and contact number with the waiting staff and wait for the call. That’s the “queue system” here.
The indoor setting is cozy and well-lit but seats and tables are really limited. In fact, from what I see it seems like there are more tables available outdoors than indoors. In terms of table arrangements, it’s really quite identical compared to the main branch. More on the outside, less on the inside.
My “standard order”, the Big Breakfast did not change at all since I started visiting Kith Cafe (well, maybe except for the price). You still get 2 eggs of your choice (scrambled, poached, sunny, over easy) with bacon strips, smoked bratwurst, a quarter of roasted tomatoes, sauteed mushroom and toast (of your choice as well, between Multigrain/Sourdough/White/Brioche/Spelt).
I ordered poached eggs for the day and as expected, it doesn’t disappoint. I quite like the homemade strawberry jam to go with the toast. It’s not too sweet and goes really well with the sourdough bread. All breakfast items are available till 3PM all day. If the above Big Breakfast is too heavy for you, consider their 2pc Toast with 2 Eggs ($8) or Corn Frittata with Avocado, Tomato and Bacon ($14).
Being a rocket lover, I can easily savour this simple yet delicious salad veggie on it’s own. Dressed in Balsamic dressing with added cherry tomatoes, shaved parmesan cheese and sliced tomatoes, all I can say that salad never tastes this good. Other favourite items off the salad menu would be the Greek Salad ($12) and Caprese ($14) which comes with Buffalo Mozzarella, tomatoes and basil pesto.
Absolutely creamy and very rich in taste. Consists of a good portion of spaghetti, bacon, parmesan cheese all in a generous serving of egg yolk and pasta cream, the Carbonara is well worth the try in my opinion. For something less sinful, you could try the Mushroom Aglio Olio ($14) and Alla Vodka ($15).
Covered during my last review, the sandwiches available at Kith Cafe are also worth trying, such as the Grilled Chicken Sandwich ($12) and Smoked Duck Breast Sandwich ($12).
The perfect drink for a hot and sunny afternoon. I once said that the coffee here is decent and I should add on that the iced coffee here are just as good! I tried the Ice Honey Milk Latte just to give it a shot and was absolutely surprised by the overall taste. I just didn’t expect that honey could go so well with coffee.
Kith Cafe is definitely one decent cafe worth coming and queuing for. Coming here should be a breeze for many at this new branch since it’s right opposite Dhoby Ghaut MRT. I really dig the cozy setting that the cafe offers and the thought of grabbing a seat outdoors at night and sipping up a good cup of coffee is just so inviting. Do come by and I am sure you and your friends are in for a good time here.
